Egypt.. new gas cylinders prices

The Egyptian government agreed to increase the price of gas cylinders (butane gas) by about 7%, which is the second increase by almost the same percentage in three months.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly published in the Official Gazette on Thursday evening, scheduled to enter into force on Friday morning, a decision setting new prices for butane gas pipes for domestic and commercial use.

The decision set a new price of 75 pounds for a small cylinder with a capacity of 12.5 kg to be delivered to distribution warehouses for consumers instead of 70 pounds in the previous decision.

The new price also includes the value-added tax of 150 pounds and 25 kg which will be delivered to distribution warehouses for consumers instead of the previously scheduled 140 pounds barrel.
It also includes 6000 pounds per ton of natural gas, excluding shipping fees, instead of 5600 pounds in the previous decision.

Based on the decisions issued in this regard, Government Resolution No. 1056 of 2022 confirms that these new prices include stamp duties.

The Egyptian government agreed to a similar increase in gas cylinders prices in early December.
