On Tuesday, 16th march, 2020, GIZ Egypt signed partnership agreements with the Egyptian private industrial developer: Polaris Parks
The signing ceremony was organized under the auspices of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) on behalf of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry and in cooperation with the Industrial Development Division on behalf of the Real Estate Development Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries.
The agreements come as part of the extensive effort implemented by GIZ Egypt through the Egyptian German Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (PSME) Project to support Egyptian industrial areas. The objective is to provide comprehensive technical support to five pilot industrial areas to adapt the Sustainable Industrial Areas (SIA) Concept and develop tailored transformation strategies and roadmaps.
The supported pilot areas are two public industrial areas owned and operated by IDA in Qena and Sohag and three private industrial areas owned and operated by the three partner developers in the 6th of October and the 10th of Ramadan.
The Sustainable Industrial Areas (SIA) Guidelines are developed by the GIZ, together with the World Bank and UNIDO, and are currently adopted by industrial parks worldwide.
